Ashvita was launched in Chennai on October 18th 2002. Ashvita was started as a fine art gallery and later a garden cafe was added in 2003. Rapidly, Ashvita grew into a retail/dining destination. Over the past few years Ashvita has promoted several young artists. Ashvita conducts an annual Short Film & Photography competition.

On August 1st 2009, Ashvita re-invented itself. The new avatar is a upscale lifestyle destination. Ashvita now houses a fine dining restaurant, a boutique, bookstore, jewellery store & a fine art gallery.
